Made from double-coated anodised aluminium with a built-in spirit level, the temperature control jacket is used to maintain viscosity cups at the required temperature. With inlet and outlet ports, it is ideal for connecting to a thermostatic bath to maintain a constant temperature during testing.
Scope of supply: Integrated bubble level, tube connectors and scratch-resistant feet

What is the difference between measuring viscosity with and without a thermal jacket?
Without temperature control, ambient temperature can affect the flow time. The thermal jacket maintains more stable conditions and improves the reproducibility of measurements.
How much can viscosity vary due to a change in temperature?
Depending on the product, a difference of just 1 °C to 2 °C can cause noticeable variations in flow time and affect the comparability of results.
Why do viscosity standards usually specify a test temperature?
Because temperature is one of the factors that most influences viscosity. Working at a defined temperature ensures that results can be reliably compared across different tests and laboratories.
